LACER - Design of Entrepreneurship Learning and Training Methodology for Immigrants coming from the South

The LACER project will design, develop, pilot and introduce outline training methodology and a related training curriculum specifically aimed at entrepreneurship training for immigrant groups. The project recognises than many professionally qualified immigrants are forced to accept low-paid, unskilled and temporary employment and plans to work with these individuals in providing entrepreneurship training, with a particular focus upon the establishment of small businesses. Four project phases are planned, namely: Preparation (establishment of project communication structure and website); Teaching (design, testing, evaluation and distribution of training methodology for the establishment of new businesses for immigrants); Tutoring (design, testing, evaluation and distribution of a system for the individual tutoring of potential entrepreneurs) and Training of Trainers (focussing upon the human resources demands for the implementation of the new training methodology). The final end results of the project will be training and tutoring methodology, a guide to self-employment for immigrants, materials to support the training of trainers and a web-based platform for the exchange of information and experience. Planned dissemination activities include the release of articles to relevant press and journals, participation in seminars and conferences and the hosting of a series of information days for training providers, universities and other public bodies.
