LACE - Lifelong learning and Active Citizenship in Europe's ageing society
Start date: Oct 1, 2005,

The LACE project aimed at increasing the engagement of Europe's ageing population in society through motivational, educational and active networking activity, the latter through establishing and strengthening stakeholder networks involving older persons alongside relevant educators and policy makers. An additional goal for the project related to increasing the levels of senior volunteer engagement through promotional activity. Building upon initial research into active citizenship and volunteer programmes targetting older persons, a pilot process was followed with good or interesting practice proposed for transfer to new partner countries. The key output for the project was a publication promoting the findings and conclusions of the testing and transfer process.
