La pratique artistique comme outil d'enseignement en classe d'Espagnol/Langue Étrangère
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project proposed by LPO Les Iris aims to use artistic impression as a tool for teaching Spanish/foreign language. The goals are to improve students linguistic skills, ease and fluency when talking, and to raise interest in the discipline. A mobility request has been made based on the identification of a need for further training. The request concerns a Spanish teacher motivated by innovative educational methods with past experience of setting up several cultural projects within the establishment. The request is to follow two courses proposed by the l'Academia Iria Flavia (Santiago de Compostela) to learn theatrical and audiovisual techniques to be used in teaching Spanish/foreign language : "Ejercicios de improvisación teatral para su aplicación en el aula de Español/Lengua Extranjera" et "Vídeo y storytelling". There are three stages to the project. From a logistical viewpoint, the mobility will be prepared through meetings with both the head of the establishment and the manager for course sign up, making reservations and complying with any administrative obligations. At the same time, the selected teacher will prepare her stay by reading and viewing related documentaries. She will then contact the participants and teachers 15 days before the course commences via a group platform. During her phase of mobility, the teacher will follow lessons and exchange with participants. After her mobility, the exchange on what she has learnt will continue via a forum set up by the course organizers and the e-Twinning platform. The results for the teacher include an improvement to language and teaching skills and putting new teaching strategies into place. We hope there will be a marked improvement in the students language skills and a new dynamic which will lead to heightened motivation and investment. There are multiple long term advantages. The transfer of new skills by the teacher participating in the project will ensure that a maximum of students are reached by these innovative teaching methods, improve foreign language expression, flag up early school leavers and encourage mobility. The project would also promote team work at national and European level.
