Today's society demands more and more better training in foreign languages. On the other hand, the challenges of the globalized world require a response from the European Union based on a greater integration not only on the economic aspect, but also on its policies at all levels, especially the educational policies that are so essential when it comes to consolidating the European project. In addition, our students are aware that their professional future is set on a United Europe, without barriers to the mobility of workers, which means to improve their career prospects particularly in times of economic crisis. Our High School is no stranger to these demands. In recent years it has been observed . a growing interest of the educational community for the learning of foreign languages and the mobility of professors and students to complete their training. In fact, we have found that more and more, there is a growing demand of families wanting their children to study in the bilingual section. On the other hand, the study of a second foreign language (French) is more and more demanded as well. We believe that it is our duty as educators to respond to these challenges. This is the reason why we have joined into this project, which, very briefly, pursues the following objectives: * To improve the language skills of teachers and students in English and French. * To provide the teachers with methodological tools to make their job more effective, allowing students to construct their own learning by interacting with other students and teachers. * To provide and encourage teachers with the use of new information technologies and communication, as well as with the use of cooperative learning. * To establish contacts with teachers from other countries of the European Union in order to exchange experiences and possible partnerships. * To enhance the European dimension of education, providing our students and teachers knowledge not only of foreign languages but also other educational realities of neighbouring countries. * To encourage our students so as to have a positive attitude towards the project of European Union and towards its member countries, which share with us values, culture, history, and what is more important, a common project that we need to keep on constructing among us all . This is the reason why we have designed this project within two years, in which a total of ten teachers will travel to France, the United Kingdom and Ireland to improve not only their linguistic competences but also in the fields of methodology and culture, learning at the same time how their colleagues work in other countries of the European Union with whom they will share experiences, opinions, materials... to explore the possibility of future partnerships. Some of the participating teachers belong to the departments of English and French, but others teach their subjects in English and are members of other departments such as Geography and History, Maths or Music. In this project we have put an special emphasis on a series of measures aimed at dissemination among the educational community and the environment, aware that this work of dissemination is essential to enhance the European dimension of education. Our project includes a wide range of concrete measures to promote and spread the project through the sending of press releases, Faculty Meetings, the Pedagogical Coordination Board, the School Board, all the Educational Departments, etc Long-term Impact: * To improve the linguistic competences of teachers and students. * To update the methodology used in the classroom. * To get in touch with teachers of other nationalities with a view of a future partnership * To improve a positive attitude of students and teachers towards the project of a European Union. The most outstanding long-term benefits are the related ones to the idea of Europe and the European dimension of the education. Our project is not but one more link in the construction of the European Union, the Europe of the citizens in which these are the main protagonists of a project of which they are the main makers.
