CONTEXT The future of the EU is founded on the values of active European citizenship, on the promotion of intercultural dialogue, inclusion and reception of citizens from an early age. The aim of the project is to develop an innovative path for our school by creating collaborations in our local territory, encouraging better training at national and European level. Taking into account what has already been done, our institute, feels the need to renew the teaching strategies to make them as best suited to meet the training needs, it involves a continuous rethinking of methods, tools and content to be adopted; open the school from an international point of view, integrated, able to understand the present globalized to be truly "in the world" and dominate the complexity that characterizes it. OBJECTIVE - Making the educational institution available to the participation of all actors of the training process (head master, teachers, parents, students, local government, social partners) to the promotion of active citizenship, not only locally but in a European and international context. - Play an important role as a school for the “build” of individuals to be active citizens, to be involved in the life of the community, helping to shape its collective identity. - Participate in a project of European training and job shadowing for teachers, headmasters and other staff in order to innovate, communicate, collaborate, develop projects, share and participate in the European educational community. NUMBER AND PROFILE OF PARTICIPANTS 18 participants from the school staff. They have various functions, responsible for the plan of training, responsible for the educational and intercultural workshop, managerial and administrative staff. DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITIES - English language courses to improve communication skills through theatrical and multimedia techniques (4 teachers-Malta). - Job shadowing to help pupils in difficulty through artistic and performance practices and to compare their own practices with other systems of teaching. (2 teachers in France). - Job shadowing for an observation visit of a school known through the e-Twinning portal, with the aim to realize the twinning as an opportunity for all our students to learn of to apply ICT competences and skills and to promote in our school a model of “multicultural European society”. - Structured trainings focused on intercultural education looking for the signs and testimonies of the presence of meetings of different civilizations in various European cities. METODOLOGY Our Institute has organized a working group (director, teachers, administrators, parents, cultural workers of Municipalities) to search for new forms of educational innovation, with a strong interest in the innovative tools that Europe offers to the schools, with reference to the best possibilities included in the new European catalog. IMPACT AND RESULTS - Discover and practice the different possibilities for cooperation and exchanges in Europe. - Experiment and share innovative teaching practices - Apply these practices in the disciplines and diversify the learning methods. - Create a network of teachers and schools for new projects and future exchanges.¬ IENTIFIED NEEDS - Identify the challenges of the globalized world through the training of staff in terms of expertise, creativity, original thought, new ideas and inventiveness, critical observation and problem solving ability. - Through a learning and a collaborative work we can develop the capacity to live and work together in a society of multiple identities. - Experiment and share innovative teaching practices.
