L'école aux couleurs de l'Europe
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

As our young pupils are very curious about activities about new cultures and are really keen on opening themselves to new sounds, we would like to deal with our work into depth around some European countries and also introduce English from the very first year of kindergarden so that children can have better knowledge in English by the end of the three first years of school. In order to reach our goals, as kindergarden teachers, we would need a training so that we can communicate and talk with other teachers. We will then be able to get our pupils in touch with other pupils from other European countries to work around the following topics: - Celebrations and traditions - Symbols and characteristics - Songs, nursery rhymes - Food Once we will have communicated and talk about those different topics, we will regularly ( three times a year that is once per term) dedicate a day to one European country during which we’ll deal with the topics. Our aim is to make our pupils become aware of the importance of the English language to communicate with different countries, be more motivated to learn this language and that they start to feel well at ease to speak English. Our goal in the long run would be our pupils to be more committed in the learning of this language in order to improve their performances at primary school. Learning English as soon as kindergarden is in our mind the best way to master a language.
