We want to give the opportunity to 22 students (who will be educator/coach for people with special needs) to make a part of their practice abroad (Romania). The internship will take place in two day centers and a school for children with special needs in Tîrgu Mures. We have been working together for several years with the orthopedagogical centers. The last two years we made a project ‘Get the picture!’ where we tried to make a clear portrait of each client. The coming time we want to focus on the quality of life of the visitors of the centers. We want to show/prove that the theoretical framework Quality of Life (Schalock) is as well useful in other cultural contexts. The implementation of the different items of quality of life may be different, the areas that need to be worked, will be the same. Considering the quality of life of people we work for, results in real quality care. For the first flow (2015) our goal is to determine the important elements of quality of life. The results of this investigation will be the base for activities. For the next year (2016) our ambition is to investigate if quality care really leads to a better quality of life. We are sure that this project will contribute to a professional and personal development. Themes as dealing with differences, appreciate this differences and think about things that makes life important, … should be the central issues. For the organizations involved we hope to provide a stepping stone to improve a better care. By centralizing quality of life, not only the clients will be better off but also the quality of care will receive a higher level. Both are inseparable linked.
