„Kultur on Tour“ is a project which was brought to life from the organisation „Integration through arts“ to strenghten intercultural encounters and cultural cooperation Europe-wide. „Integration through arts“ is a non-profit organisation which supports young people with migration background to develop identity, to integrate them into society and at the same time, promote the encounters between people with and without migration background. The aim of the organisation is to improve the German language and social skills as well as strengthen the self-confidence of youths and children with the help of different art forms such as acting, dancing and singing.The issue of flight, asylum and migration is still highly topical, With the project „Kultur on Tour“, theres´s a platform being created to give young people from different nations and cultures the possibility to exchange about this issue.After the topic of „flight“ was focused the last year, with „Kultur on Tour 2017“ the arrival in another and unknown country is going to be focused this year. Young people with migration background (and having partly experienced flight themselves) should be given the possibility to exchange their experiences but also their hopes and expectations after arriving in a foreign country. Thereby, solutions how to overcome prejudices and stereotypical thinking should be found together.Everyone oft the project partners has long-term experience in the cultural field and works especially with young people with migration background. With this project on the one hand, the know-how of the project partners will be included as well as, the ideas and the thoughts of the youths, on the other hand.To strengthen the intercultural encounters and cooperation between the youths, there will be furthermore, many joint activities during the project. Moreover, the participants are dealing with the topic, in advance and will present own performances at the first day of the project, to deepen these ideas even more during the project with the help of different workshopsand discussions. Furthermore, another aim will be that after returning to their homecountries, a network between the partner countries will be formed to pass on the ideas and results of the encounter locally, as well as nationally and thus extend beyond European borders.
