This project has been made in order to improve the quality of health services and to implement the innovative approaches in Turkey's health services. chronic obstructive pulmonary Disease is seen mostly in Nevsehir because of the structure of the soil region, Zonguldak because of coal pits and Sivas because of the cold climate so that the project runs in these three different regions. One of the most important features of these three regions is high rate of usage of tobacco and tobacco reletad products. Despite the fact that The project host partners have similar features like Denmark because of the climate, Spain because of soil structure and Germany because of mine pits. COPD disease death rates are not very high. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is a progressive lung disease characterized by chronically poor airflow, The main symptoms include shortness of breath, cough, and sputum production. Although COPD is a very important health problem, it is not recognized well. COPD is lethal as much as and lung cancer and heart attacks. Tobacco and tobacco products, dust, smoke, wood, air pollution, nutrition and allergens and genetic factors create inflammation in the lungs which causes early aging. The most important symptom of COPD is shortness of breath. Shortness of breath emerges during heavy ephors formerly , later even the smallest movements lead to shortness. Patients live difficulty when doing daily activities. Heart failure is also observed in advanced COPD patients. Thus, it leads to organic and psychological illnesses by reducing the person's quality of life. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease ranked as the fourth leading cause of death in worldwide, killing 2.7 million people each year and increasing prevalence of chronic airway disease. 5 million people in Turkey is suffering from this disease. Every year 26 thousand of our citizens are estimated to die from this disease. It ranked as the third leading cause of death in Turkey. However 90 percent of patients with this condition is not aware their disease. Both the public and health care providers do not have sufficient knowledge about COPD, and this makes early diagnosis and effective treatment of this disease difficult. if the disease can be diagnosed at an early stage, morbidity and mortality rates can be reduced. The Ministry of Health recently has focused on fighting the disease. In addition, in order to increase public awareness, the date November 16 th has been consideredas World COPD day. the project is planned as education at the health care instituion in Spain, Denmark and Germany in three stages. participants consist of 10 and 11th grade Nursing, Emergency Medical Technician and students and attendants consist of teachers from the same department. 54 students and 9 atendants will participate the profect in three stages.
