Start date: Dec 31, 2015, End date: Dec 30, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The aim of the project 'Creative youth in modern Europe' is the cooperation between Zespół Szkół Zawodowych i Ogólnokształcących in Biłgoraj (ZSZiO )and Centre for Vocational Training (B.B.V.) in Eberswalde in Germany. The cooperation assumes the participation in the vocational traineeship of 60 third year students of Technical Schools at Zespół Szkół Zawodowych i Ogólnokształcących in Biłgoraj, specializing in catering, hotel industry restaurant staff and mehanics. The sending party will be ZSZiO in Biłgoraj and the receiving party will be B.B.V in Eberswalde, which has rich experience in running similar projects. The sender’s main goal is creating an opportunity for the students to successfully enter the European job market. The participants will get to know the structure and principles of catering, hotel and mechanical industry in the host country developing their professional and linguistic competence at the same time. Working in German companies (including restaurants, hotels, etc.) the students will gain practical skills connected with the service of international clients, as well as organising catering hotel and mechanical services. Moreover, the students will learn about various techniques of serving hotel guests, gastronomy functioning and will learn about different forms of mechanical work. During a four week stay in Germany a group of 60 students will familiarize themselves with the most important hotel jobs and workstations, as well as German standards of customer service and staff duties. Our students, who have already completed the vocational traineeship in Polish hotels restaurants and mechanical workshops, will be able to compare the working standards in both countries. It will give them a chance to draw conclusions and increase their knowledge and improve skills. The project will allow them to gain new working experience in different cultural and social conditions. It will undoubtedly extend their professional skills and teach them good cooperation. In addition, the students will benefit from the participation in the project by getting familiar with German culture and customs, visiting interesting places and, above all, becoming more fluent in German and English. The traineeship will be a chance to continue the cooperation between the partnering schools in the years to come. It should also give an impulse to a new cooperation between other schools in Biłgoraj and German schools. The traineeships will certainly have a positive influence on the development of vocational education in Poland, making it a more attractive option for young people to consider, which in turn will lead to an increased interest in vocational education.
