Kompetenzerweiterung von Lehrpersonen für die Förderungsmöglichkeiten von Kindern mit Migrationshintergrund

In this project the participating teachers should be trained in foreign language didactics and methodology as well as in the transferring of knowledge using a foreign language (CLIL) and to enable them to act as multipliers. The courses should improve the English skills of the teachers so that the language can be taught as professionally as possible. Due to the heterogeneity of the cultures and languages of the students of the primary school Graz-Gabelsberger, a specialized training of the pedagogical staff in this area is essential. In exchange and collaboration with other European teachers different ideas and approaches for successful teaching will be collected. Therefore, the three participating teachers will attend courses that focus on pleasure-oriented exercises appropriate for children in foreign language teaching (Malta) as well as courses in CLIL (Ireland). The findings and experiences will be published in a blog and on the homepage of the primary school Graz-Gabelsberger. Furthermore, they will be presented at the beginning of the school year 2015/2016 to the teaching staff to achieve a maximal outcome for the school with its 274 students. The aim is to support the pupils as good as possible and to improve the attractiveness of the school itself.
