KNOWOODNET - Definition of innovative, on-line educational & training strategies for facilitators of multi-purpose relations and inter-enterprise dissemination of skills and competences

The KNOWOODNET project focuses on the definition of a training course targeted at technicians having specific professional skills in the wood and furniture sector. In order to achieve this, the project will develop innovative educational strategies towards the development of appropriate professional training in the furniture sector and will define common, transferable and accredited skills standards amongst the participating partner countries, to better enhance relations amongst education providers and support agencies. A training needs analysis will be undertaken in order to: prepare a map of professional skills for inclusion in the new professional profile, establish the training course content (for both trainees and trainers) and to establish an outline model for certification. The end product of the project will be a series of web-based training modules, a CD-Rom containing all project results and a support training manual. Target groups for the project are young people in initial vocational training, existing employees within the furniture and wood sectors, craftsmen and training practitioners. Dissemination will rely upon the introduction of a dedicated website and the release of a project newsletter every three months.
