Our institution is a multi-functional complex organisation of the Educational District of Érd with 845 students and 94 teachers. Faculties: primary school, department for students with special needs, secondary grammar school. We have been participating in EU projects for more than 13 years. Our teaching staff consists of child-oriented teachers who perform quality work and have been open to new, advanced ideas and methods. The primary goal of our project was to find new methods and observe other European countries to see if education and teaching methods are different, or there are many similarities but on different locations with different conditions. The project was centred around development, modernization and becoming international. We also aimed at finding ways to better develop both our under-achieving less talented students and our gifted ones with good learning abilities. The professional development of our teachers is not only an aim but also a demand: the ever-growing amount of learning materials, the high requirements for students, the difficulty of finding proper text books and the development of digital technology requires teachers to have a profound knowledge of up-to-date methods. Our aims with this projects were: 1. to improve and refresh the methodology of lessons 2. to improve the satisfaction of our partners 3. professional rejuvenation 4. completing the requirements of professional trainings 5. mediating intercultural values and finding further partners These objectives align with our vision of future and they have formed an integral part of the goals of our school’s leadership in the last five years. In order to participate collegues needed to have an adequate knowledge of the target language and were required to write a motivational letter. They also participated in two meetings about Tempus project applications and the type of project we have taken part in. We signed a mutual agreement with all participants in which they accepted and noted the duties they had to undertake during the project. After this process there were 14 teachers ready to participate as 4 colleagues moved, changed schools or faced unforeseen family problems. We have managed to find substitutes for these 4 colleagues to implement project activities. The actual participants were: 9 teachers of foreign languages, 2 teachers of natural sciences, 1 teacher of real science, 1teacher of human arts and 1 special needs teacher. We needed to have some alterations with regard to the locations of the trainings. We administered changes considering our budget. During the project we contacted 8 European organisations and completed all the 15 planned mobilities. We got acquainted with a wide variety of methods from various fields such as motivation, ICT, drama, comprehension, music, written and spoken communiaction, cooperative methods, CALL and CLIL methods, online learning material development(Clilstore),web pages, Internet applications, web-page design, etc.. Theparticipants presented their professional development to our project group and also demonstrated the acquired methods in demonstration lessons for their fellow teachers. Some participants could also utilise their acquired knowledge for creating their teching portfolios. We also gave regular reports on the progress of our project during teachers’ meetings. At the end of the project we had a special professional day for our teaching staff to pass on our acquired knowledge to our colleagues, and we repeated this, inviting colleagues from the other schools of our educational district. We provided them with information about the project opportunities at Tempus Foundation and also presented our current Erasmus+ projects and our experiences and acquired knowledge. This event was attended by around 100 colleagues. All project activities were reported by our local media (newspaper and television) and our school’s webpage also provided up-to-date information. I also reported to my fellow principals during the meeting of our educational district inFebruary 2016 and also provided them with a copy of our publication. This publication presents the professional experiences of the completed mobilities in a colorful and aspiring way besides publicizing Erasmus+ programmes and our National Agency. All the participating teachers worked in close collaboration throughout the entire project- from planning to reporting. The continuous teamwork and joint effort is also a positive aspect as it had a great impact on professional relationships and brought many collegues closer to each other giving way to cooperations on further projects within our outside our institution. Teamwork, sharing good practices and experiences have become an integral part of our everyday life. At the end of the project the colleagues gave feedback on the project through a questionnaire. Our organisation has benefitted greatly from this project and we continue to aim at perpetual professional development.
