The people of the border regions live in the border connections in their life. It is the part of their every day. This project want to strengthen the common roots with a cultural, sport and art festival. Later (after this festival) people wish new programs and the process create new demands, expectations. Our strategic target is to integrate the border regions. The specific target of the project is to improve the social and cultural coherence between the people and communities living in Tisovec and Putnok so we make programs in the towns and we want to strengthen the good connections among the participants. The long-term target is to strengthen the cross-border connections between the inhabitants, institutions and civil organisations of the partner-towns.We think the project "Opened gates, opened arms in Gemer and Kishont" contribute to the targets of the 1.7.1. programme in the increase of the social and cultural coherence among people and among communities. Achievements: People in border regions live their everyday lives in close contact with the other side of the border. The aim of the project was to strengthen common roots with joint cultural, sport and art events and to encourage new cooperations between cultural institutions and local communities in Tisovec and Putnok. Another goal of the project was to create a demand for new events and for the organisation of new programmes as twin-towns.
