KISI Volonteers 2016/2017
Start date: Aug 1, 2016, End date: Jul 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

As KISI- God's singing kids(www.kisi.org) , we perform musicals with either biblical stories or social issues as content. We have around 60 performances a year mainly in Austria, but more and more also outside the country (Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Israel, Hungary, ....) In addition KISI offers workshops in schools or puppet shows in kindergardens, also doing summer camps and more. Our organisation counts 1800 members, we are a non profit organisation and our target groups are young people and their families. We've experienced that KISI offers a great opportunity for young people (who are with us for one year as volonteers) to- explore their giftings and talents in a safe environment - grow in social and personal competence working together with other young people from different backgrounds. - gain precious experience and competences in the fields of: children's education, music and event managementWe can take 2 volonteers each year and are looking for people who love being around people, who love children and young people, who love music, love to travel and love to learn and grow in their personality. It's not the "Sound of music", even though we do love to wear our Austrian traditional ledder trousers and dirndl dresses from time to time and often sing in churches :) Main activities are helping in the musical projects and tours, workshops... or helping with event management or administration work. We also linked with refugees in our village and support them. The Volonteers work in a larger team of full time staff, mentors and Volonteers from Austria. After this year the volonteers know more who they are, and who they can be, how they function in a team and where their limits are - all of this is learnt in a safe environment, coming home with a collection of gained competences, together with many good stories and experiences to tell for a lifetime.
