By implementing the Key Skills for Web Deveopers(KSWD) project, the beneficiary institution, Colegiul National ”Stefan cel Mare” aims to respond to nowadays labor market`s needs by equipping students with relevant advanced and up-to-date IT competences (web design/web development), English language, inter-cultural and entrepreneurship skills.Our school is providing the students with the opportunity of choosing the preferred specialization, according to each student`s aptitudes and areas of interest, aiming to develop the intellectual, behavioural and vocational potential, to ensure the successful integration into nowadays dynamic society.The intensive ICT study program allows our students to earn, at the end of the XIIth grade, a professional competencies certificate, for the qualification ”Analyst programmer assistant” recognized by the Ministry of Education.The host partner, GoDigitAll, was founded in 2001 to address a number of factors relating to the regeneration of communities in United Kingdom. GDA provide support and innovative training to develop the wider communities ICT knowledge in an informative, jargon free manner and we achieve this by: one to one training, outreach services, mentoring, volunteering, employability support, partnership work, advocacy, advice and guidance. GDA has been involved into a large numer of youth and partnership projects, contributing to the development of young people`s intercultural and ICT competences.The direct beneficiaries of the project will be 24 XIth grade students, mathematics-informatics specialization, preparing to obtain a professional certificate for the ”Analyst programmer assistant” qualification.The mobilities will take place in Nottingham, UK, for 3 weeks, during which the students will learn using Joomla, one of the most popular and powerful content management systems used to create and administer websites. Joomla advanced competencies are among the most wanted and well paid in the IT sector. Moreover, the students will improve their knowledge concerning different programming languages, such as PHP, Java and Python. They will be learning while working on the development of real products, websites for the clients of the host, under the direct supervision and support of the tutors, IT specialists.This experience will improve the technical, linguistic, intercultural and entrepreneurial competencies. The home institution will also benefit from as the students will get directly involved in promoting the school into the online environment.This project will allow the beneficiary institution, Colegiul National `Stefan cel Mare` to reach more of its` strategic goals, especially those concerning quality improvement and curricular diversification.
