Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our school is involved in the Board of Education in organizing the development of school network. Development work will focus on teaching methods and arrangements, technology skills, the use of pedagogy and co-teaching. The aim is to develop a school culture towards learning organization, the use of the whole school as a learning environment and increase the functionality of teaching and learning. In addition, we emphasize technology skills and tools of natural and needs-based use of the school as a part of everyday life, and develop pupils' and teachers' media literacy. We try to be critical towards learning material. We want to develop the co-teaching model. Possible co-teaching pairs in Myllymäki school are teacher-teacher, special teacher-special teacher or classroom-teacher special teacher. Myllymäki school is being extended in such a way that the extension will add classrooms early education and day care. Therefore, we want to explore a variety of learning environments. Objective 1: Teaching methods and arrangements for the development and use: The school toolkit for the various educational and pedagogical ideas. Establishes common rules and practices of adults and students on how to make it possible that all of the school facilities are in use. There will be developed a toolkit of functionality in different subjects. Objective 2: Technology skills in pedagogy: teachers and school staff discuss what issues should be paid attention to when pupils move towards the use of personal tablets. Pedanet learning environment is in active use. Objective 3: Co-teaching: During the academic year the aim is to make a co-teaching ABC Guide in Myllymäki school. The guide discusses and agrees on a common practice in the school, what issues should be agreed upon before the start of co-teaching, how parents will be informed and what things eg. in relation to the premises should be cleared. Schedules take into account the common planning time and allow for smooth cooperation. Our target is to explore the destination countries, the provision of teaching and the local education system. In addition, we want to explore a variety of learning environments and teaching methods, in particular the use of technology and functionality. The aim is also to explore the local major historical and geographical attractions (eg. museums, art exhibits, attractions). We want to see how co-teaching is carried out in cooperation with schools. The intention is to visit the schools and keep track of educational provision and access to learning environments. During the visit, we share our know-how and practices and discuss examples. If possible, students take part in the visits. We present the Finnish education system and how it is implemented Myllymäki school. The six people involved in the project are school administrators, classroom teachers and special education experts. Some of the participants are involved in the development of school education working group. The participants have developed the school from the perspectives of co-teaching, functionality, inclusion, and the use of technology in language teaching. Participants already carry out these new ways of working of the new Finnish curriculum in their work. Participants’ strength is diversity - there is both experienced teachers and young teachers having the latest training information. In addition, participants represent teachers from early education to secondary school. All project participants are interested in internationalization. Our school has a culture of good practices and knowledge sharing. The project results and estimates are recognized in achieving the objectives of the mobile blog peda.net learning environment.
