Keep the fire burning - eine Ewoca³ Jugendbegegnung
Start date: Jun 17, 2014, End date: Dec 16, 2014 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Ewoca3- Youth exchange 2014 "Keep the Fire burning" was developed in a successful partnership between Germany (Dortmund), Belarus (Minsk) and Italy (Ivrea). It shall take place from the 3th -17th of July 2014. The participants ages 16 to 23 will plan and construct a big fireplace with walls for the “Naturfreunde Schwerte”, a nonprofit-organization which engages in nature conservation and ways for a sustainable living. The participants will work under supervision by experts from the three partaking countries. After constructing the fireplace it shall be officially opened to be used especially for youth projects by the “Naturfreunde Schwerte”. Through intensive inter-group-exchanges, with citizens and experts, and through practical work constructing the fireplace the participants shall develop social, intercultural and job-skills. To establish a European identity and to strengthen the group-ties, many group activites (sport-events, planned evenings) shall be organized. The participants shall then encounter the lively Ruhr district. The topic “sustainability” shall be made accessible further using Dortmund and the Ruhr district as an example for long-term structural changes by going on trips and special lessons. During the youth-exchange, the participants shall create their own internet representation together, the so called “Ewoca3-Live-Blog”.
