With our project Keep on Moving, our school (MMI Kortemark) wants to offer students extra learning opportunities. Eleven students (Jeugd- en gehandicaptenzorg/Leefgroepenwerking) and eleven students (Kinderzorg) – both VET-studies – get the chance to do two weeks of their traineeship abroad (Romania/Netherlands). This internship contributes to the professional and personal development of students and enhances their chances of employment. The internship is minutely prepared, guided and monitored by a group of teachers. These teachers are actually present in the workplace during the internship. Organizing international projects not only enhance the professionalism of the teachers involved, it also has an impact on the quality development of the school, on the organisation. The teachers disseminate their experiences in their department and in the team internationalization. This team wants to strenghten the European network of the school and provide international internships in other fields of study. This objective is a continuation of early language learning offered at school (extra hours of Englisch, CLIL). An internship abroad could be the finale of this process.An international internship can move in this way not only the students and some teachers, it can also give an impulse to innovate, to move.
