Kaufmann/Kauffrau International (AHK) - Vorbereitung auf die Internationalisierung der Arbeitswelt
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project with the title "Kaufmann/Kauffrau International (AHK) - preparation for the internationalisation of the business world" is conducted by the two project partners Staatliche Berufsschule Schwabach and European College of Business and Management (ECBM). To ensure the quality of the cooperation the two partners use ECVET-elements (Memorandum of Understanding, Learning Agreement, Europass Mobility). As part of the project 20 office management assistants respectively 20 industrial management assistants complete the three week Intensive Professional Development Programme (PDP) provided by the ECBM in London. The PDP-Programme was especially developed for students of vocational schools. It imparts language competence as well as comprehensive competence in the area of management. It is especially the aim of the project to increase the business knowledge, experience and language skills. Industrial management assistants are deployed in companies of any kind and size. They are responsible for the planning, realisation and control of diverse areas of business responsibilities. It is the aim that an industrial management assistant can handle all business tasks. Due to the international movement of goods two qualifications are becoming more and more important - extended knowledge of foreign languages and intercultural competences. The newly developed training for office management assistants puts special emphasis on the internationalisation of the trainees. Office management assistants organise and deal with office tasks i.e. they handle business management activities such as purchase order processing, purchasing, accounting, marketing and personnel management. The fields of activity are very diverse: office management assistants can work for industrial companies and trading companies as well as for public service or business associations. As part of the internationalisation of the business world the requirements that are made on trainees are increasing. The requirements include foreign language competence, openness for other cultures, self-dependence as well as internationally recognized degrees and the readiness for international employment. The training companies of the Berufsschule Schwabach have production facilities, suppliers and customers within Europe and outside Europe. That's why the companies set high value on the ability to communicate, foreign language competences and intercultural competences. Therefore the practical and intensive application of English and the improvement of the students' communication skills are expected to be advanced and deepened by this project. Another aspect is that the students gain insight into another culture, another way of living and another business world. The participants of the project experience another way of living by staying with a host family. This helps them to reduce potentially existing prejudices towards other cultures. In a working environment that is growing together closer and closer it won't be enough in the future to possess only a national degree. As a vocational school it is our duty to show that development to our students again and again. The PDP-programme provides the opportunity to gain the internationally recognized degree Kaufmann/Kauffrau International (AHK). The students are also encouraged to think outside the box and to take international employment opportunities into consideration.
