Karst without borders: scenarios and flavours

This project, consisting of a specific action of connection, cooperation and promotion of food and wine tourism in the Italian and Slovenian Karst, is based on the experience acquired by the partners in the framework of the initiatives entitled Karst pilot project, Spring of Karst delights, Terrano wine route and Karst flavours. The project starts with an analysis of the tourist and eno-gastronomical offer of the area to develop joint promotional actions through the creation of targeted tourist packages, that entail the organisation of events, meetings, initiatives, joint and tasting sessions in the cross-border context. The main purpose of the project is the enhancement of tourist attractions in the crossborder Karst area, by harmonizing the different types of food and wine tourism, while establishing a permanent network for the exchange and dissemination of local produce. The project also entails the promotion of restaurants/farmhouses, tourist operators, local tradesmen and entrepreneurs, and the world of typical cuisine and products of Karst, while preserving the importance of an eco-sustainable tourism and of the possible activities to be carried out in the area: a cross-border cycling route, excursions, horseriding, sailing, etc.
