Kansainvälisyys opiston kehittäjänä - KAKE
Start date: Sep 1, 2016, End date: Aug 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

A starting point for the mobility project is the curriculum development work in Helsinki Adult Education Centre for the years 2015-2020. The curriculum is a tool for pedagogical guidance, planning and management, it includes also the objectives and the priorities for the teaching. The two priorities chosen as the thematic fields of this project are inclusion and new learning environments that are important for the work of the whole staff. Because of turbulent development in both areas there is an urgent need for the staff further training in them. The strategy for international activities of the Centre has been updated for the years 2016-2020. According to it, the Centre is a multicultural society with a strong aspect of internationalisation at home. One of the objectives of the project is to increase the European dimension into the development work of the Centre. The objectives of the project are e.g.; to offer opportunities for vocational development in the European context for the staff, to get new ideas and comparative knowledge to support the curriculum development, to network with European colleagues and to get familiar with the practices and education policy in other countries. The project concists of 30 mobility periodes of the staff to inservice training courses and to job shadowing exchanges in adult education organisations in different European countries. All the staff members can take part in them. Open calls will be arranged in order to give all the staff members equal rights to participate. The diary kept on the move will be available online which is also a tool to spread the information about the mobility in the Centre. Before the mobility period information meetings with the participants will be organised, in these all the practices are introduced , also guidance for the preparation of the content related issues is included in the agenda of the meetings. As the outcomes of the mobility periodes, the staff will learn new knowledge and skills in teaching and also in the thematic development. The staff will be able to observe the elements in a new way and take them into account in teaching and learning. The project is anticipated to bring new content and motivation for the development activities and to improve the cooperatiive way of working among the staff members. The curriculum development work will get new content from the exchanges, also the European dimension is anticipated to be more visible in the teaching activities in the Centre.
