Kamp volontera: Jesen u Zlatnoj dolini
Start date: Sep 1, 2014, End date: Dec 31, 2014 PROJECT  FINISHED

Eko Centar Latinovac will conduct a project „Camp of volunteers: Fall in the Golden Valley“. It will take a place in the village Latinovac and close surrounding (Požeško-slavonska county). Project will gather 10 volunteers from four countries (Turkey, Portugal, Spain and Latvia). Time of implementation will be October and November 2014. We want to give contribution in promoting values of different living areas, especially to support values of continental part of Croatia. We want to support development and preserve Greenway route (it connects Croatia and Hungary) and promote healthy living habits (nutrition and physical activity). We are going to conduct following activities in the project: - permacultural education - maintenance of bike route - Fall fair - project proposal writing workshop - maintenance of web and Facebook page of Eko Centar Latinovac and planning blog - tour to some parts of continental Croatia - language course (Croatian, basic) - evaluation of the project Methods that are going to be used are individual and team work, film projections, discussions, theoretical and practical workshops, power point presentations etc. The results we plan to achieve are transfer of knowledge about permaculture, project proposal writing and different methods of group work. We plan to support healthy living habits through different activities connected to Greenway bike route. The project is important because it promotes youth mobility, work and living experience in another country. Through project we support rural development and sustainable community development. We plan to make two new project proposals during project writing workshop. By connecting EVS volunteers with local youths, we promote and spread ideas about the importance and benefits of youth mobility in personal growth and development. We want to encourage and support local youths to take active part in European projects for young people. Sustainable growth and local community development are necessary for regional and national development. With this project, we encourage and support local activism and positive changes. The project will empower youth mobility and create new experiences. By understanding and familiarizing ourselves with cultural, national and civilizational diversity, we promote a substantial decrease in discrimination and violence in the society. Volunteers will be able to spread knowledge, skills and experiences among young people in their home countries. Eco Center Latinovac and partner organizations will support volunteers to make this happen.
