KALIBER35 Munich International Short Film Festival takes place every year in the Bavarian capital of Munich, Germany. Short film is for young professionals an experimental field and a business card, and is mostly carried out by young filmmakers. To them, we offer with our Festival the opportunity to public knowledge, since with the exception of festivals and online media, the possibilities for short films are rare. The Munich Film Society has been organizing this festival every year since 2006 as purely voluntary work - since 2012, EVS volunteers have also helped in improving the project and in making it more professional in many ways. Our volunteers are the heart of the festival team and shape the planning, organization, development and management of the annual summer festival. Among their tasks is to publish our Call for Entries, to carry out active research for suitable films at other festivals, among our alumni, at national agencies, etc., to watch all the submitted films, to make a selection and compile a program, to promote it, to bring the films and their filmmakers to Munich and to host here over the course of a summer week the KALIBER35 Munich International Short Film Festival. Another focus of the volunteers‘ work lies in the extension of the festival in the digital world , from the care of our Facebook and Google+ communities, to the management of our Vimeo and Youtube accounts (e.g. through a Youtube channel of our own), to the valorization of the Festival archive through VoD/PPV platforms such as Onlinefilm.org, to the use of crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and IndieGoGo to support the festival and the filmmakers. Last but not least, the volunteers get insights into the other activities of the Munich Film Society, like training workshops and network meetings.
