The project title is: innovative and experiential activities in our schoolSchools have the opportunity to implement cultural education and school innovation programs (youth entrepreneurship) in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Culture, Education and Religious Affairs (Y.PO.PAI.TH.). Also, Y.PO.PAI.TH. from the previous school year has incorporated in the curriculum in all three classes of the Gymnasium the new courses "experiential activities - project». In these programs and courses the most activities are outside classrooms and include field trips, group cooperation teaching, guiding students in the countryside, the project method etc. Our school for years has implemented these programs and of course taught "experiential activities - project '. During the self-assessment of school, but also in informal discussions between teachers, examined the effectiveness and problems of teaching in these subjects and concluded that school staff hasn’t the necessary training and knowledge of the appropriate educational tools and techniques. Staff must adopt new and innovative teaching practices in the areas of school activities, experiential activities - project, and where possible, and the other subjects in the curriculum.Thus the objectives of the project are our school:Adopt in the above innovative programs and new courses experiential teaching. They will implement new educational techniques such as learning by doing and group cooperation teaching. We have to to synchronize the curriculum and teaching methods the countries of the European Union where these issues are good practices for several years. Teachers who will participate all have good knowledge of the English language, experience in school activities programs and good to excellent knowledge of computers.The main activities in which we intend, chronologically, to participate prior to participation in the seminars:Study all the preparatory material to be sent or posted on the Internet by the partners. Discussion among teachers to participate and the school teachers association regarding the specific training needs, which we will present at the beginning of the seminar. Create electronic material, probably presentations through which we show the school and activities to partners. They do electronic communication with the other participants on a first contact and acquaintance.During our participation in the seminars, the teacher(s):Involved and will become familiar with teaching techniques necessary in educational visits to productive and commercial units,Learn didactic games and simple exercises to promote entrepreneurial thinking in secondary school students.Use interactive tools (games, field work, debates) which will develop entrepreneurship amongst students.Visit production facilities to gain a personal understanding in their function.Learn the basic principles of outdoor education.Involved and will become familiar with teaching techniques necessary to the educational visits of museums and cultural monuments.Notice how to collaborate with museums, cultural institutions and productive units with schools. Apply the basic principles of e-learning for museums, cultural and production organizations (digitization of information, creation of short videos, animation, etc.).After the trainings teachers will engage in activities for the dissemination of results and good practices and will proceed to evaluate the project. Dissemination will be done both in our school and the wider educational community and the action will involve school counselors and those who are responsible for the school activities. The evaluation will be done mainly by comparing the effectiveness of the implementation of school activities before and after trainings. The expected impact on our school will be: Open to the society, together with cultural institutions, museums, businesses in manufacturing and the economy. We expected more positive attitude of students toward school due to the implementation of new teaching techniques more attractive and productive. Students will get in touch with real life and understand how the social, cultural and economic space is organized, develop cognitive and social skills, such as: communicate, select, propose process data, collaborate, evaluate, and decide issues with value-criteria. In the long term the school would work as an information hub and dissemination of new teaching techniques that integrate and apply the teaching of subjects on which the project will take place.
