KA1 2016-18: Insegnanti verso l'Europa
Start date: Sep 1, 2016, End date: Aug 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Istituto Comprensivo Statale di Quartucciu is composed of 3 Pre-schools, 2 Primary schools and 1 Lower Secondary school, with 109 teachers, 1 School Head, 1 Admin Head, 5 Admin staff, about 800 students.Several projects of important and longlasting tradition aim at:- the development of the European and intercultural dimension;- the increase in the study of foreign languages and certification of linguistic competences;- the use of foreign languages in the teaching/learning process through innovative metodologies such as CLIL and technological tools (ICT).In the last few years this European and foreign language orientation has been strongly developed, thanks to the Institution involvement in several LLP Comenius actions (In-service training on CLIL, Assistantship , Multilateral Partnership) and other projects related to the enhancement of culture, traditions, active citizenship and multicultural issues.Starting from 2011-12 there is a group L&I, composed of teachers with linguistic and methodological competences from each school level; they supported and still run these projects. Our School has been working on several CLIL, eTwinning and multilingual and multicultural projects; it also hosted an Erasmus+ Assistant from last october to december. We intend to meet the Institution needs fostering and enhancing the School Head’s and the teachers’ competences needs through the attendance of courses about methodology in learning and teaching foreign languages, CLIL, ICT and web tools 2.0, inclusion in European context, management and European planning. There will be organized courses of English A2-B1/QCER for teachers with basic skills, to be attended before the training activities abroad. The criteria agreed to take part in the project, which the candidates have already subscribed by a Mobility Application, are:-the attendance of courses of English A2-B1/QCER for teachers with a low level before the training abroad;-the awareness that the attendance of the training abroad is aimed not only at the fostering of teachers’ competences but also at the enhancement of the School European and intercultural dimension.11 applications have been received: School Head, 5 Pre-school teachers, 2 Primary teachers (one is the project referee), 3 Secondary teachers. The teachers’ competences enhancement will impact other colleagues in the class teams, project groups etc, by the attendance to multicultural and multilingual project already planned in the PTOF 2016-19.The contact person, with the support of the Working group L&I, will coordinate the project for all its life cycle (organization, monitoring, evaluation, school project planning, dissemination); local bodies and associations active on multicultural and inclusion issues, which our School already work with, will be involved in future projects. The project will be presented in public assemblies and meetings for parents and teachers of other schools in the surroundings, with the involvement of expert teachers and principals. We also intend to promote the project in provincial and regional meetings on the Erasmusplus action, on local media, newsletters, on Facebook pages and Groups, on eTwinning-live.All the projects and activities will be promoted by project websites/blogs and on the School website, as well as all the materials which will be created for information and dissemination actions. The project evaluation, self-evaluation and impact will be gained and assessed by:-certificates of attendance of the training activities;-monitoring, final reports and Mobility Tool;-survey about pre-requisites, requisites and processes for each project;-international certifications and Europass;- eTwinning projects evaluation procedure for the accomplishment of national and international prizes;-monitoring actions, evaluation and self-evaluation of the School educational proposal, collecting data surveys and benchmarking. The involvement of our School to the Erasmusplus KA1 will therefore improve all the Key competences in teachers and pupils, foster motivation in teaching and learning by enhancing the School internationalization, contribute to create and lead objective measures to improve the Institution itself with regard to its processes and outcomes.Pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds will particularly benefit from this project, as they have few opportunities to develop and share their skills and competences related to their native culture, which is in some cases from different Countries. Thanks to this project, our School intends to distinguish itself in the surroundings, becoming a reference point for other schools, with a view to sharing and exchanging good practices, creation of networks for future planning, contributing in this way to provide a better quality service as a part of the School system in an European context.
