NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: 1 OBJECTIVES: Cultural Diversity, Inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities, Particpation of Young People and Youth Unempolyment:, Creativity and Entrepreneurship, promotion of healthy lifestyles through physical activities including sport PROJECT ENVIRONMENT The youth club is located around a school area and so there are many young people around. The youth centre is a meeting point where the youth can get necessary information for them and for their problems and can learn to take responsibilities for them and for the community. But it is also an area where the kids and teens can be among themselves and can communicate under informal circumstances. The volunteer will get some expirience in working with projects in the MEDA area together with European countries. This will help Jugendzentrum Perg to study the EuroMed cooperation and use the power of network for the volunteer to design future cooperation with MEDA countries concering the new Program Erasums+ and the real priorities and needs for Youth organizations in the MEDA countries. CONTEXT AND BACKGROUND Jugendzentrum Perg is planning to host one volunteer from Palestine, as part of the new cooperation with Palestine that was created in June 2013 during the study Visit “ Youth in Palestine and the surrounding challenges”. The volunteer will get the experience of youth work in Austria and the information about how youth work is organized in Austria. The volunteer will be able to transfer its knowledge to the SO in Palestine and to initiate similar projects as well. PROJECT DESCRIPTION IN GENERAL Our organisation is called a youth centre which purpose is to promote the youth in an above party lines and above confessional area. We are located in Perg/ Upper Austria which is the capital of the county Perg. Our young people shall have the possibility – outside of school, company – to create their spare time with things that make sense for them, such as culture (clubbing, concerts and theatre), sports and activities in any form they wish. The youth centre has to contribute the rooms and the persons who can support them and help them in any case and with any problems. The youth centre is a meeting point where the youth can get necessary information for them and for their problems and can learn to take responsibilities for them and for the community. But it is also an area where the kids and teens can be among themselves and can communicate under informal circumstances. We are located in the center of all types of school and of a part in our town where a lot of youngsters with multicultural background live. We are also dealing with minorities.
