Jump at the opportunity! Empowering youth through
Start date: Dec 1, 2012,

Young people are able to have an input into how their local community and wider society operates. Especially for our target group, namely young people in our communities, volunteering and participation as the keys for empowerment represents a route to employment, enabling them to build up skills and experience. There is a vast array of notions, definitions and traditions concerning participation and volunteering. However, what is common throughout Europe is that wherever young people engage together in activities to help each other, support those in need or to initiate actions to help ensure that everyone enjoys a decent life – both society as a whole and the individual empowered young person benefit and social cohesion is significantly strengthened. The present project with the title “Jump at the opportunity! Empowering youth through participation and volunteering” will be designed as an intensive seven days lasting training course (following TC) focused on the main theme “empowerment through participation and volunteering”. Within the TC a composition of modules using methods from non-formal education will provide the participants step by step with theory, tools and skills for the realization of own future activities. The expected outcomes of the TC are confident and competent youth leaders, facilitators, trainers and multipliers with the skills to design and implement future programs empowering other young people in their environment with the support of their organisations and local communities. The project will take place in Kljuc, Bosnia-Herzegovina, 08.03.-16.03.2013 with the support of project promoters from programme countries and neighbouring partner countries from South Eastern Europe.
