36 youngsters from 13 – 25 years with and without handicaps from Talayuela (Spain) and Kassel (Germany) will explore in the frame of this youth exchange youth culture and youth meeting places in northern Hesse and compare it to youth culture(s) in Extremadura (Spain) – also concerning the participation of handicapped people.The youngsters shall reflect reasons and circumstances of exclusion as well as think about reasons and wishes for inclusion, and think about their own role in that field. Meeting and common activities of handicapped and not handicapped people, the participation of handicapped and not handicapped people in all parts of living should get more and more natural.The participants in this exchange acquire or improve their creative, artistic and craftmanship competences.Within the project young people, handicapped as well as not handicapped, should- make international experiences,- experience integration,- get to know other kind of youth culture,- experience to work successful as an international group,- acquire or improve creative and craftsmanship skills,- have a positive experience of mobility, which encourages them to be flexible and open minded.The youngsters will visit youth meeting places and youth houses in Kassel, which can be assigned to different kind of youth culture. The participants will explore for differences, motives and activities of the respective culture and participate, as far as possible in their activities.In one part of these activities the participants will support the children- and youth house ‘Wilde Warte’ by getting active in renovating a trailer and helping in garden design. So they will improve their own craftsmanship competences (instructed by skilled construction workers and experts of horticulture) and contribute sustainably together with the youngsters of the youth house to preserve their meeting place.In the frame of circus- and theatre workshops the youngsters get to know or improve circus and theatre skills, learn to use them and create – instructed by circus and theatre experts – scenes, which express their perception of diverse youth culture scenes, of realized or not realized inclusion and their ideas of desirable inclusion.At the end of the exchange the youngsters will present their impressions concerning youth culture scenes and ideas about inclusion to the public with a public circus and theatre evening.After the end of the exchange the youngsters will produce a radio program, in which they report about this project and their impressions. The one hour lasting transmission will be broadcasted in the local radio station Freies Radio Kassel.The participants occupy themselves with questions concerning inclusion and exclusion, groups, which will be contacted within the project and the public will be confronted with questions and descriptions of inclusion and exclusion and stimulated to think about it. The participants in this project acquire creative, communicative, intercultural and craftsmanship skills, which might increase their employability.
