The Jugendbildungsstätte Unterfranken coordinates many EVS project in the region but every year they invite self one European volunteer. Almost all the team members have migrational background and we always try to become support an European volunteer. His personal experience, interests, plans will be taken under consideration. The already chosen volunteer would like to learn about pedagogy and youth work, because he has not much experience in the informal learning. We are waiting for one volunteer from Slovakia to arrive in September 2015 for 12 months in the Jubi. The sending organisation is the Mladiinfo and the Jubi will be the hosting organisation in that case. After an orientation and introduction phase the volunteer will have the possibility and time to organize his own projects and ideas. He will be involved in the pedagogical work of the house. He is going to get to know and support each of the fields of the Jubi: Interkulturelle Öffnung, Interkulturelle Qualifikation (participation in the formation ‘Coach für interkulturelle Arbeit’), Internationale Begegnung, Zivil Courage and Schule ohne Rassismus – Schule mit Courage. He will also support the public relations of the house. The volunteer will learn the methods and attitudes of the Jubi but he will have the chance to bring his own skills. In the region of Unterfranken are every year between 10 and 15 EVS volunteers who are creating a network. They spend a lot of time together (weekends, traveling, events). Andrej should help the EVS coordinator to strengthen and develop the network. One of the possibilities would be to write a blog (about the life of the volunteers in the region). The volunteers support also the events of Eurodesk and tell the young people about different programms for youth to go abroad.
