JOVENES Y FORMADORES MALAGUEÑOS POR EMPRESAS DE EUROPA
Start date: Oct 1, 2016, End date: Sep 30, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our institution is a school of Compulsory Secondary Education, Post- Compulsory Education and Professional Training on Hotel management and Tourism. The current number of registered students is 250 in the Professional Training courses. The presentation of this project means a continuity of 10 years in which we have taken part in projects by the “Consorcio” supported by the Junta de Andalucía ministery Office of Education, Leonardo projects for Middle professional training students and Erasmus ones for Upper professional training students. Consequently, 100 students have had the opportunity to develop their learning in different European Union countries. Our main goal is to keep on offering the chance of going to other countries in the UE where they can learn in companies of our sector at the same time they carry out their FCT as it is established in the Curriculum. As we mentioned above, our sector is Hotel management and Tourism with the specialties of: - Restaurant management- Cooking and gastronomy - Pastry making, baking and confectionaryWe also take into account periods of 12 months for students who have recently finished their studies. 15 students. The trainers take part in them as JOB-SHAWDOWING in the same companies where students are developing their internship abroad. Five will be chosen for a week period (9 days with the journey). Therefore, the main aim of this project is to enrich students with an experience abroad linked with a significant improvement in the learning of our students since it gives a global vision of the sector requests in the main countries in Europe. Employment has had barriers, however, nowadays, since our society has a cosmopolitan feature we need to train our students in companies of brother nations in Europe. Besides, that would mean a possibility to start their professional life there. Moreover, we cannot forget they can be future clients and consumers of products from the Costa del Sol, so if we know their gastronomy, customs, and culture we will be able to address properly their needs during their stay in our Community. For teachers within the Job-shadowing it is necessary to retrain “in situ” so that they can get familiar with the dynamism and the current reality of the equivalent working centres in our sector in the foreseen countries in the UE. The designed programs for this proposal will take 12 weeks (three months) plus two days of journey for students and 9 (one week to stay) plus two days of journey for the trainers. The timetable will be carried out with a duration of two years, starting on 1st October 2016 and finished by 1st October 2018.
