Joint research and development of energy efficiency measures in cities of cross-border region (CHEE)
Start date: Jun 30, 2010, End date: Dec 30, 2011 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project focuses on the introduction of innovative methods into energy management - energy savings via energy efficiency (EE measures in public and residential and business buildings). The aim of the project is both to capacitate local governments (LG, research institutions), development agencies and businesses for greater use of EE measures and RES, and to set conditions for joint development preconditions for greater appliance of EE measures, as well as at demonstrating EE activities on demo-buildings in Hungary and Croatia. After the termination of the project activities will continue in other local government units in the region Achievements: Energy efficiency and its application in everyday life is an extremely important environmental issue. The Hungarian and Croatian partners in the project came together to educate their local communities on energy efficiency and on the practical ways of achieving it, they organised seminars and workshops for energy effi ciency professionals and demonstrated the benefi ts of energy effi cient engineering by renovating two public buildings – an elementary school in Osijek and a home for the elderly in Szigetvár.
