Flood-prevention is an urgent issue on both sides of the border, and it must beachieved without damaging the ecological state of the region and the economicand development interests of the local population. The program tries to solvethese problems by giving analyses concerning hydrologic and ecologic state andopportunities of the area, nature preservation and flood-prevention. These studies areintended to be implemented in operation plans within the scope of a further project.The senior staff members of the Bratislava water authority participated actively in theproject in spite of the fact that their Slovakian mirror project has not received funding.At the closing conference, the Slovakian experts emphasized the success of the projectand their firm intention to collectively continue the work.
