Our project “Languages as a key to world” will be realized for two years.In order to provide higher level of education in our primary school, we involved five teachers (two English teachers, a German teacher, a psychologist and a guidance councellor) to participate in different training courses improving their language skills, ICT skills , CLIL methodology skills and historical- cultural knowledge. The main aims of our project are as follows: 1. increasing the students’ interest in international and European culture and promotion of tolerance; 2. increasing motivation in learning foreign languages among students and teachers; 3. improving the results of teaching other languages; 4. establishing new, international cooperation with other countries and initiating some interesting projects; 5. developing school management system; 6. enhancing European extension of our school. The teachers involved in the project would like to improve their language skills especially such as pronunciation, accent and refresh vocabulary and acquire new methodological knowledge. Moreover our team is focused on getting new ideas in teaching by means of communication and information technology. We are going to pass our knowledge in a very attractive way and we hope it will decrease students’ aversion to learning and change their attitudes to otherness . It may result in increasing students’ motivation. The most important learning outcomes include: knowledge of educational systems in European countries as well as awareness of the practice of foreign language teaching, awareness of cultural diversity, ability to evaluate in an unbiased fashion the practices, beliefs and products of one’s own and other cultures, ability to transmit this skill to foreign language learners, ability to create didactical tools and materials for culturally-enhanced teaching. The participation of teachers in these various courses will benefit the whole school and local community.
