The title of the project: ,, l'm a resident of Lublin Province,a citizen of Poland, European."Context of the project:We work in a ruraI area,where a lot of students come from pathological families with alcoholic problems.We can notice a big discrepancy in our students' level of English language knowledge:from the beginners to intermediate.The schools results have been decreasing for a few years. Students don't often have motivation for studying because they don't have good examples in their own environment and they don't see any perspectives for the future.Luckily,there are also same students who eagerly participate in thematic and artistic competitions as well as sports events and succeed in them. As a result we can see both: the needs we have to respond and salve and the potentiaI which cannot be wasted.We feel we are responsible for these young people.Our aim is to make them aware that they are not only the part of their little homeland but also the part of Europe and their background can't limit them.lt was the reason to take the decision for the development and westernising of our school as well as improving language skills and arousing pride of our students' origins.The aims of the project:1.Giving equal opportunity, breaking stereotypes and getting rid of prejudices (a resident of Lublin Province - a resident of Europe).2. Developing language skills of the teachers of different subjects to popularise fashion for learning languages and enabling students permanent contact with a foreign language.3. Modernising methods of English teaching and other school subjects - learning new techniques,adding variety to lessons, working with talented students and those with problems, organising work in groups, access to new interesting materiaIs, using multimedia4. IT as everyday school practice: using the Internet during the lessons,working with educational programmes,gaining interesting films, documents, applications (also in English)5. Making contact and cooperating with teachers from foreign schools, exchanging experiences and good practices,sharing materiaIs and opinions.6. Extending knowledge about different projects and gaining experience in managing European projects.7. School,region and Poland promotion abroad and promoting the knowledge about other European countries.Participants:Six teachers of different subjects ( Geography, Biology, Polish and English) have been chosen for the project. In the process of enrollment we drew attention to the factual knowledge,motivation, plan of development presented by the teachers as well as the usefulness of the course chosen by the teachers from the point of view of the European plan of the development of our school.Main activities:1. Teachers' participation in the course abroad.2. Modification of teaching plans.3. lncluding English language to other school subjects (CLIL)4. Accomplishment of original programme during Polish language classes " Following the footsteps of English writers" - promoting English literature ( English language teachers will provide support)5. Organising a competition about the European Union
