We have decided to implement this project in order to increase the quality of professional practice of students from hotel school. The project of foreign internships will allow us to link vocational education of students with European practice. Graduates of our school will be in their profession in contact with foreign customers or they will spend time abroad. Therefore, it is important for their professional development to have the opportunity to gain experience abroad and to strengthen the level of English. The project responds to the demands of employers in sector of the hospitality and tourism. Thanks to the experience from abroad, acquired professional knowledge and skills and a good level of English will participants of this project have good employability after they leave school. The project´s aim is to increase the level of practice of students through internships abroad. The project aims to contribute to the development of expertise of participants, enabling them to apply theoretical knowledge in practice, become familiar with the working environment abroad, get to know the local organization, working practices and gain work habits. Significant is also the objective of improving the level of participants´ English. The project has to developed so-called soft skills of the participants. They have to acquire polite behavior and dealing with colleagues, guests and clients, enhance their mobility and flexibility, strengthen the independence, professional self-confidence and adaptability. Other goals are to gain experience with life in a foreign country, learn to manage money and get to know a new country and its culture. The project will bring participants certified practices that will facilitate their entry into the labor market. The project will also enable schools to achieve the objectives in the field of development cooperation with foreign partners, improving the quality of education and its orientation towards the needs of practice, increasing the attractiveness of study and increase the prestige of the school. We will implement ECVET and use Europass mobility to certificate the internships.Project participants will be students of the 2nd and 3rd grade of studies, attending 4-year degree courses Hospitality and Tourism. We will send 20 students (10 in England and 10 in Ireland) aged mostly 17-18 years. Each group will be accompanied by a teacher. Internships will take place in June 2017 and will be of 4 weeks long. Internships are part of the compulsory practice of students. All participants have expertise in their field of study, control work on PC and have knowledge of English.Before internship, participants undergo training at school, which focuses on improving English and will help them adapt to a new culture and working environment. During the internship, participants focused on hospitality, will work as skilled gastronomy and catering workers in hotels and other accommodation and catering facilities. They will work in positions such as cook, waiter, waitress, barista and in other hotel services. Participants focused in tourism will work in facilities for tourists, such as information centers, cultural institutions, attractions and in hotels as a receptionist or in administration. In addition to expertise, during the internship, participants will develop their language skills, learn about the host country and develop their personality.The results of the project will largely have intangible form. They will reflect in participants´ development of professional, language, culture and personal competencies. Participants will receive a quality experience that will help them to find a good job after graduation, possibly due to their professional and language skills more easily to get a quality college.Our school will engage in cooperation with European partners, we will be able to compare the level of preparation of our students on a European scale and get suggestions to improve the quality of teaching at the school. School staff, who will be involved in organizing internships and accompanying persons, gain new experience in European projects and contacts with practice. The attractiveness of study and the prestige of the school will increase, which will help us to attract new prospective students. Thanks to the project, we also expect growing interest among employers in future graduates of our school.At national and European level, we see a significant impact of the project on the development of partnerships, increasing the quality of vocational training, linking studies and practice, the growth of foreign language skills, the acquisition of intercultural experience and promoting mobility among young people. Project implements a European qualification tool ECVET and uses the Europass Mobility. Thus it contributes to the standardization and recognition of qualifications in the EU.
