Jazyky i kultúry - naživo i cez internet
Start date: Feb 1, 2016, End date: Apr 30, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project "Languages and cultures - live and through the Internet" covers the programme countries Slovakia and XXX. It will take place in Slovakia, in the town of Partizánske and its surrounding from 01.03.2016 to 31.05.2017. During 12 months, Edukácia@Internet will host 2 volunteers from Poland. The goal is the project is to connect online language education with real-life communication with an active participation of the learners. Edukácia@Internet developed several successful free online language platforms, but for volunteers it is also important to develop the acquired knowledge in daily life. The activities of the project are based on personal communication in the target language and are connected to online education - we regularly organise workshops for people from abroad who learn a foreign language and we organise a monthly language café in Partizánske. The online language course will help them to improve the knowledge they already acquired during the individual activities of the project, which is possible even without the presence of teachers, by means of an online educational platform. The language café will help them in practice: the participants, who are mostly young, have the opportunity to communicate in the target language. Young people can use the acquired knowledge on the job market, and they are in addittion motivated to meet people from various nationalities and cultures. The volunteers are put in touch with local inhabitants, they receive organisational skills and extensive experience in working with ICT and foreign language. By presenting the results of the project and of EVS, E@I motivates other local organisations to participate in the European Voluntary Service. The volunteers will experience concrete collaboration and communication with people from various cultures and parts of the world during the organisation of a world cultural event, the 101st World Congress of Esperanto, which is under the patronage of the president of Slovakia, Andrej Kiska. Young people can have such an opportunity only once. The volunteers will co-organise the first even of this kind in Slovakia, which will contribute to the understanding between nations on the linguistic and cultural level. This even will teach collaboration, team working spirit and will have an important influence on Slovakia, the region and the city (it will attract around 2500 people from 60 countries), on tourism and the development of international relations. Their work on the European projects of E@I will affect the international Internet audience and their local activities will influence the town of Partizánske.
