The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the development of qualitative national, regional and local support systems for young people – potential entrepreneurs, and to promote young people’s active citizenship and their European citizenship in particular, through development of their skills, necessary for starting up and developing new businesses in innovative, sustainable and green industries – the areas outlined in the EU2020 Strategy, thus helping young people to become aware of their role as employers, active European citizens, capable to shape the economic future of their region and the EU as a whole.The specific objectives of the project are the following:- To promote understanding among young people in the Vidzeme Planning Region about nature-friendly, sustainable and innovative entrepreneurship, and the role it plays in the sustainable economic development of the Vidzeme region and the EU.- To promote a dialogue between young people from the Vidzeme region and the developers of entrepreneurship support policies in Latvia about capabilities and challenges that are relevant for young people to start their own businesses, thus also developing the socio-economic and professional growth of involved participants.The project activities will be held in the Vidzeme Planning Region, Latvia, with particular activities taking place in Valmiera, Gulbene, Madona, Cēsis and Smiltene municipalities. The project duration is 8 months. 30 young people, aged 18 to 30, living in the Vidzeme region, will participate in the project. The main activities of the project will be 4 working groups and one two day seminar - meeting with national, regional and local policy makers. During the working groups, the involved participants together with professional coaches will develop their team building, communication, business idea and innovation generating capacities, will learn to develop their own businesses and will develop recommendations for national, regional and local entrepreneurship development and support policy makers. Methods of informal education, such as the simulation game "My new enterprise", in which young people will simulate the creation and development of a new company, will be an integral part of the project activities.
