During the Project there were organized 20 VET learners in companies training activities and Job shadowing/observation programs for 2 teachers in the collaboration with the partners in Estonia, Germany, Spain, Italy, Malta and Portugal. The OBJECTIVES of the project : To assist students to acquire skills, abilities and competencies that will enhance their personal growth, employment and possibilities to integrate into the labor market; to promote vocational education and attractiveness of vocational education; to promote students' mobility. The aim of the teachers' Job shadowing program was to to gain knowledge, skills and competencies that contribute to their professional growth, employment and better opportunities in the labor market, as well as studying good practice examples of partners to support innovation and quality improvement system of vocational education and training institutions and systems. The PARTICIPANTS’ NEEDS were the following: *The Internship participants had insufficient access to high-quality professional qualifications due to the lack of the necessary equipment in the school laboratories and workshops, as well as inability of some Latvian institutions to provide access to advanced technological processes . *Job shadowing participants – The teachers – participants of job shadowing- needed to get a new experience of improving the professional qualification, teaching enhancement in the field of building engineering where there were teachers who had had no opportunity to attend professional development activities in other countries so far. SELECTION CRITERIA: - Learners' progress in the current training and practice; - Theoretical and practical training level ; - The results of vocational skills competitions and out of school ; - performance in schools - Knowledge of foreign languages. Before the beginning of the project there were made some agreements among Mālpils Vocational Secondary School, the project participants and the foreign partners according to Erasmus + Program . There were clearly defined the rules and responsibilities of the parties and attached a detailed program. At the end of the Mobilities the participants received the Europass Mobility Document as well as the hosting partners' certificates that confirm gaining some knowledge, skills and experience in the specific areas abroad. RESULTS: The participants improved their knowledge and gained valuable professional experience in their specialities: catering service, furniture manufacturing, building engineering, design. The students' language skills have been essentially improved. The students got acquainted with the management methods and techniques of the enterprises and developed their entrepreneurial skills . The participants increased self-confidence and motivation to develop their professional and personal competencies and cross-cultural communication skills . THe participants of job shadowing improved their professional competence, increased their capacity for school modernization and internationalization promotion. They increased the quality of work and the positive impact on the learning process in order to offer learners the latest professional knowledge; they raised their motivation to engage in further education and future project events. The dissemination of the results took place in the publications "Mālpils Vēstis" and " Rīgas Apriņķa Avīze", the school website www.malpilsskola.lv The reports were provided to the municipality at the Mālpils Municipality Council Education Advisory Council meetings at the end of both project years. The extensive information about the Project was prepared for the publication in the hosting partners' web sites .
