The project idea was based on a town twinning initiative which has a history of 12 years. The method used in the project is a very popular one in Germany where it is used in more than 100 settlements to prepare young people between the age of 7 and 13 for their life as adults, to enable them to participate actively in their society. The aim of the project was to present the young participants (7-13 years old) how a democratic society works, focusing on the life of a city. Additionally the principles of the project were the followings: to learn self-sufficiency, to improve communication skills and contact building ability, to make real the notion and the value of money, to develop creativity and problem-solving ability, to learn some conflict-solving methods.The project duration was 6 months, the implementation of the activities was 10 days. The venue was Gyula, there were approximately 100 children and 40 volunteers, from which there were about 20 peers from the age of 15 to 30, the other 20 were youth workers and craftsmen.Als Ursprung des Projekts dient eine partnerstädtische Initiative, die auf eine 12 jährige Vergangenheit zurückblickt.Diese Methode wird in Deutschland mehr als in 100 Gemeinden verwendet um die Kinder zwischen 7-13 Jahren auf das Erwachsenenleben, auf die aktiven gesellschaftlichen Rollen vorzubereiten.Das Ziel ist mit den an dem Programm teilnehmenden Altersklassen demokratische Gesellschaft, innerhalb dieser die Tätigkeit einer Stadt bekannt zu machen. Unter der Grundprinzipen des Programms spielen noch eine große Rolle die Erziehung zur Selbstständigkeit, die Entwicklung der kommunikativen und kontaktaufnehmenden Fähigkeiten, Bewußtmachung des Begriffs des Geldes und Werts von dem Geld, die Entwicklung der Kreativität, die Entwicklung der Fähigkeiten der Problemlösung, Erlernen von Methoden der Konfliktbehandlung.Die Zeitdauer des Programms vom Anfang bis Ende umfasst 6 Monate.Ort: Eine Grundschule der Stadt Gyula.Teilnehmer: 100 Kinder und 20 Betreuer ( 20 Betreuer im Alter von 15-30 Jahren)
