PROJECT
FINISHED
"In the Project ""Janusz Korczak in the Old and New Europe” we will follow Korczak’s history in three cities he had visited: Berlin (1907/08), Paris (1910), and London (1911).
Through this Project and reminding Korczak’s journeys, we shall connect past and present, and prove that Korczak’s ideas and actions are useful for people today. In two years we will travel two times for three-day visits to Berlin, Paris, and London (6 visits in 24 months). During each visit we will have at least two open lectures and two workshops for two groups: people working with children (teachers, educators, etc), and parents. Our lectures and workshops will be given in English, and all the educational materials, as part of preparation, will be published in English, French and German. Those materials will be handed out to participants, and presented in our webpage for free as well. In all kind of materials and media we will publish information about the financial support we received of the European Union, Programme Erasmus +. As part of the preparation, we will hire a teacher of English, who will support us throughout the Project with regard to our language skills. Language advancement and improvement will be connected to special needs of the project, which include project methods, such as need of running workshops and lectures. With this project, we would like to encourage our recipients to be more interested in Janusz Korczak, in terms of his personal life as role model, and his achievements. All the materials we plan to publish, will be a good start point for the beginners to read books by Korczak. We also believe that our project will give base for the future networking with our hosting institutions, which should result in partnerships and projects, aimed at making Korczak better known in the world, also with use of Internet tools. Both new contacts, and better language skills, will open new prospects to our Foundation, as far as our mission, international cooperation, and funding is concerned. With this project we would like to start building an international infrastructure to bring our mission out, support our long-term objectives, and open our Foundation to many new initiatives, such as establishment of Korczak summer school, or Korczak studies."
