Erasmus+ Mobility Project "Students' Practice in Europe for Professional Skills Improvement" is to be implemented in co-operation with partners in Finland (Tampere Vocational College Tredu, West Coast Education Ltd WinNowa and Ikaalinen College of Crafts and Design) and in Estonia (Vocational Centre of Parnu County). School has chosen partner organizations from different countries because then students would have a better opportunity to enrich their knowledge, to broaden their horizons and to compare Latvian labor market with other European country. Nowadays Europe is an open labor market for every member of EU, which is the main reason why this project is beneficial for our students and is a good starting point for further professional development and career. As the main specialty of Cesis Vocational school is manufacturing of wooden products, main target audience of this project will be 2nd to 4th year students in this specialty. As well as all the electrician and carpenter specialty students (2nd to 4th year). The main target audience will be 15 students of Cesis Vocational school in the following education programmes: - 10 students of "Manufacturing of Wooden products" programme; - 3 students of "Construction Work" programme; - 2 students of "Power Industry" programme. Main goal of the project is to improve practical and professional skills of students by providing a placement of 2 weeks in Estonia and Finland. By this would be ensured the possibility to get acquainted with the new materials in the industry and possibility to work with new technologies. As a result, students' competitiveness would increase and that would facilitate the integration into Latvian and European labor markets. Mobility project has different goals as well: - to improve professional knowledge in studying field; - to acquire new technologies and self-confidence of students; - to practice and strengthen the knowledge of English language; - to acquire international certificate; - to gain international working experience; - to get to know different EU country, their culture and organization; - to promote attractiveness of vocational education. Project will be implemented in year 2015 and 2016 by organizing it into three flows. Each flow will last 2 weeks. Total number of planned students is 15 and 1 accompanying person. 1st flow - October 2015, 2 students of "Power Industry" programme in Tampere (Finland). 2nd flow - March 2016. 6 students of "Manufacturing of Wooden products" programme in Finland (3 students in Pori and 3 in Ikaalinen), 3 students of "Construction Work" programme and 1 accompanying person in Pori. 3rd flow - March 2016. 4 students of "Manufacturing of Wooden products" programme in Parnu (Estonia). Participants of this project will be ensured with all the necessary practical and organizational support. Cesis Vocational school will organize the selection process of students, sign the triple contracts, and ensure the placements in Finland and Estonia. School will provide educational training as well as booking of accommodation, ensure the proper catering options and the insurance to each of the student and will provide supervision and support during the project. As one of the most important targets in this mobility is to improve practical and professional skills of students by providing a placement in Estonia or in Finland, school knows that it is very important to recognize the training results. Receiving organization together with sending organization will issue Europass Mobility document, which is recognized not only in Latvia but also in other countries in European Union. Planned project results: - Students' professional skills improvement; - Students' competitiveness increase in the labor market; - Better understanding of aspects of European dimension: to get to know other country and its culture and language, improvement of English language skills. Project participants during their mobility in Estonia or Finland would get an added value for their professional skills. Furthermore, they would share their new skills and knowledge to other Cesis Vocational students. For a long-term development of Cesis Vocational school project would promote recognition of the school in an international environment and promote the co-operation between different level vocational education providers. Also in the regional level with this project recognition of the school would be promoted. As students in Cesis Vocational school comes to learn from different regions of Latvia, this project would promote not only the recognition of education programmes "Manufacturing of Wooden products", "Construction Work" and "Power Industry" but also the attractiveness of vocational education in general. School has got successful co-operation with companies in the Cesis and Vidzeme region.
