ITC FOR INCLUSION

We are a public nursery school (3-5 years) and Junior (6-12 years), Onda (Castellón), located near the Natural Park of the Sierra de Espadán and a few kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea. The total number of students is 385 and 31 teachers with different specialties and a special education teacher part time. In our school we serve 64 students with specific educational needs and 70 remedial Education. Our challenge is to gain a better understanding of ICT to promote inclusion and to offer equal opportunities to our students, bringing us closer to the objectives of the European strategy 2020 concerning the reduction of failure.The goals we set in our project are:- Improve basic skills (linguistic, mathematical, social …)- Know the organization of other schools in relation to the attention to diversity (inclusion).- Improve the use of ICT.- Motivate and involve more families in schools as primary education agents.The management team like the rest of the cloister is very involved in this project, five teachers undertake mobility. They all have many years of teaching experience, a good start from both linguistic and digital competence.Our project in terms of mobility is observational (Job Shadowing), since our aim is to understand and work organization methods that respond to our needs. We sought different countries that serve as reference.Our intention is to make new technologies and their practical application, and the organization involved to improve our teaching, educational quality and classroom practices promoting inclusion.We hope to acquire or improve the following knowledge and skills:- Improving knowledge and personal skills of the participants.- Improve good educational practices.- Carry just new practices through innovative methodologies.- To modernize and internationalize our education and our school.- Disseminate and share our project.- Improve the cooperative work.- Know, develop and use new ICT tools.- Improve the foreign language communicative competence.- Improving student motivation in learning skills such as language, mathematics,...After finishing our new experience, we will transmit to the rest of the cloister implementing new knowledge and we will spread at local, national and international media ready for it.
