Start date: Sep 1, 2015, End date: Feb 29, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

"Its' our common challenge" is a Training course to be held from 14 to 21 November 2015 in Aghveran, Armenia . It will bring together youth workers, youth leaders, teachers and educators from 5 program (Germany, Slovakia, Romania, Portugal, Denmark) and 4 EECA partner countries (Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Belarus) + Russia. Considering the contemporary radicalization and intolerance spreading within European societies, there is an urgent need to intensify the anti-discriminatory work across the formal and non-formal sectors. Youth work plays a significant role in awareness-raising oon the topic and the implementation of anti-discrimination measures, which as a result contribute to the development and strengthening an inclusive society. The overall objectives of the project are to provide a space for the participants for an in-depth reflection on topics related to discriminatory phenomena impacting marginalizing and exclusion. The aim is to equip the target group with innovative tools and methods that can be easily adapted and implemented in their daily work with young people. Moreover, considerations on developing strategies fostering cross-sectorial cooperation will be also included. The training course furthermore provides space for brainstorming on follow-up projects aiming at raising the awareness of young people of discriminatory practices and against social injustice. The training course provides space for reflection upon power relations in the society as well as personal experiences with discrimination. Along with the anti-bias approach, methods of non-violent communication, open space technology and forum theatre will be used in the project.
