The youth exchange was focus on discussing topics as anti-Semitism and xenophobia with regard to the special past of both countries, how the young people had alredy been affected and which are the possibilities to counteract them. Meeting the history, the students visited the Buchenwald Memorial, the Synagogue of Erfurt and the place of remembrance "Topf&Söhne" in Erfurt. In Addition to the guided tours throuh these places, the students used the possiblity to explore the places independently, let the impressions sink and shared them with the other participants. Also intercultural dialogue was not neglected in the 10-day project. To get to know Jena, the local participants showed the Israeli guests "their city". Also the conflict in the Middle East, which was "acute" during the project, was frequently discussed. Local food and customs, the participants learned also to know. Common sporting activities strengthened the sense of community. Also social skills such as teamwork, tolerance and intercultural competence were promoted.
