İşletim Sistem Güvenliği ve Güneş Enerjisi Paneli Kurulumuna Yönelik Mesleki Yeterliliklerin Güçlendirilmesi
Start date: Oct 31, 2016, End date: Oct 30, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Due to the fact that computer systems are more unanimous because of the internet, the weaknesses and vulnerabilities of these systems can be learned easily and lead to cyberattacks which can cause major damage and these systems provide infrastructure to other services and applications, the security of operating systems are one of the issues that should be considered first while ensuring the security of computer systems. Students who have graduated from the department of information technologies are expected to provide the security of operating systems. However, operating systems security appears just as module in the course content of MEGEP (Project for Strengthening Vocational Education and Training System) and therefore knowledge and skills of the students are quite limited. The students studying Information Technologies are in need of acquiring knowledge, skill and work experience in the software to support operating system security and security mechanisms.Increasing level of awareness about environment friendly energy sources and increasing energy costs are raising the importance of renewable energy sources. Gaziantep is one of the places with most sunshine duration and the first firm producing solar panel in our country was founded in this city. The need for qualified staff in the sector- in which the number of entrepreneurs is increasing each passing day because of state support- is also increasing each passing day. MEGEP course models involving montage, maintenance and repair of solar panels have not been prepared yet. This case causes that our students cannot gain the qualifications required by the sector and benefit from employment opportunities. The students studying electrical and electronics technology need to benefit from the training opportunities in order to acquire knowledge, skills and work experience about montage, maintenance and repair of solar panels.A partnership has been formed with the organizations of SC GREEN IT SRL (Romania) and SICOOL (Portugal) to meet the needs of the students studying Information and electrical and electronic technologies above. Our project includes on-the-job training activities on operating system security and montage of solar panels. Therefore, our target group consists of the students at 11th and 12th grades who have already gained basic vocational knowledge. Our school will provide information and preparation trainings and the host organizations will organize on-the-job training activities and social and cultural activities for the participant students as they can gain the professional competences in line with the project objectives. A project team will be created to manage the project process, to implement the planned activities and to provide support services for the participant students by executing the project-related works and duties. A commission will be formed to manage the process of participant identification. After identifying 35 participants as 14 students from Information Technologies and 21 students from Electrical-Electronics Technologies, we will manage the orientation process including professional, foreign language, occupational safety and cultural trainings. Content of on-the-job training has been prepared by considering expectations of the labour market, sector qualifications and the views of our partners. Duration of the job placement abroad has been decided to last three weeks. We will prepare documents to monitor on-the-job trainings during the placement and will assign accompanying persons to follow improvement of the students by providing support services. Thanks to on-the-site job training abroad; • the students studying Information Technologies will acquire knowledge, skills and work experience to provide security of computer operating systems, use actively third-party software supporting security mechanism and prevent data loss• the students studying electrical-electronics technology will gain work experience by improving the skills to mount, maintain and repair solar panels• besides all students will learn innovative approaches and be able to use these approaches, • improve foreign language skills, • recognize different cultures and promote our culture,• renovate their vision in the light of life-long learning. The participant students, who will have gained work experience by improving their knowledge and skills in provision of operating systems security and montage, maintenance and repair of solar panels and improved themselves personally, will have strengthened their employability through the certificates they will obtain. The project will contribute to reduction of absenteeism and school dropout tendencies by triggering students to give more importance to education. It will also make a huge contribution to meeting the need for qualified workforce of the sectors of system security and solar panel in the region.
