The purpose with the project is to discuss how an increasing global competition and growing climate changes will influence population in North Calotte and how expansion can increase and competiveness be strengthen. The purpose is also to bring together persons doing research, leader of a business and representative for North Calotte in a dialog and to discuss the need for a common strategy for globalization. The aim is to organize a North Calotte Conference and a parallel youth conference in Haparanda in August 2008. Results from the conference will be put together and processed further in different constellations in the counties.
