The aim of the project is participants’ observation and evaluation of strategies used in vocational guidance of the disabled students and of methods and practices used in their special education. The participants enhance their information and abilities on special and vocational education of the disabled and they observe practices in European countries. This not only reflect credit upon their career development but also contribute to both their institutions and our association. The participants will be able to experience new teaching methods, see and use pedagogic materials, improve their competence in vocational guidance and they will learn different methods and techniques in the field of vocational education, special education and vocational counselling. It is planned that the participants will consist of 10 educators working in special education, counselling and vocational education in Turkey. These educators will be members of International Association of Great Educators and in this way they make contribution to our association’s institutional capacity. The participants will be chosen among the members who received special education, counselling or vocational education at least at the level of bachelor degree. These participants are specialists in their fields and they will enhance their professionalisms by seeing and investigating practices in European Union countries. Kreisvolkshochschule Harz GmbH school is our hosting partner and it is responsible for providing educationd and experience to the participants related with determinated subjects in the framework of the project (13-18 April 2015). In addition to this organizing study visits to non-governmental organisations related with special education, to schools and/or to local administrations and planning cultural trips are among the responsibilities of our partner. In this sense main activities are: - Contact meetings about special and vocational education and structured educations, - Presentation of the process of the disabled’s vocational guidance, - Organizing cultural trips to institutions and constitutions related with special education in the district. Activities of the hosting partner about special education and vocational education of the disabled will be held in this way: a) On-the-job training by teachers within the school hours b) Özel görevlendirilen eğitimciler aracılığıyla kurs/seminerler, b) Courses/seminars through teachers specially charged, c) Diğer kurumlara çalışma ziyareti düzenlemek şeklinde gerçekleştirecektir. c) Organizing study visits to other institutions To summarize, the effect of the project on participants are; - To enhance their information, abilities in their fields and international experience. - Visioning by observing different practices in their fields. - Getting sensitive to different cultures and languages. The effect on the Association; - Ability in carrying out and coordinating European projects. - Contributing to educational development of the country. - Helping introduction of the Association and enhancing the skill of communication with international institutions and constitutions. Outputs of the project will improve personal developments of participants (in other words teachers) and this will directly reflect upon students and their families. Trainings and visits that will be held by special education specialists, guidance specialists and vocational guidance specialists from different cities of Turkey as participants of the project in Germany will enhance the institutional capacity of their institutions/schools.
