Fight Against Racism, Prejudice and Discrimination Kirikkale Care and Social Rehabilitation Center was established in the year 2012 on the outskirts of city Kirikkale. It is a public institution working under the Directory of Kirikkale Family and Social Politics. There are 40 girls aged 15-18 staying at the center's dormitory and 20 members of profession, 10 care workers and 10 support workers totally 40 staff are working for them. The girls are usually from different parts of Turkey from different ethnic background and they are especially coming from rural areas and poor families. Most of the girls are sexually abused so it is highly important for us to conduct psycho-social support programs and social activities. Every morning we have good morning meetings, group work and then vocational and social adult courses start. The aims of the project "Fight Against Racism, Prejudice and Discrimination" are as follows; - Improving the professional profiles of the staff working in the institution with respect to the subjects; multiculturalism and awareness of equality, awareness of European citizenship , speaking foreign language and increasing the analytical skills; - With respect to modernization and internationalism, triggering the changes in the institutional capacity; - Learning and implementing new methods and approaches in the adult education field; - Greater understanding and responsiveness to social, linguistic and cultural diversity in different regions and applying practices suitable for these diversities; - Increasing motivation and creativity of the staff doing difficult task by working with the youngsters having a traumatic experience; - Developing and implementation of strategy for prevention of discrimination; - Learning about the adult education practices in Europe and adapting the good practices to institutional process. 7 personnels will be attending the course named Racism, Prejudice and Discrimination. This course will be held by Amber Initiatives in Plymouth, United Kingdoms. As the course content and activities are directly related to our institutional mission and current practices in the institution, it will be effective to meet the demands of the institution. In short term, our staff, youths and their parents ; in the long term, society will benefit from meeting these demands.
