the title of our project is " Legends of other European countries" We would like to gain other schools for an eTwinning Project (preferably nordic countries). In this project we want to exchange Legends of our country with other European countries. Pupils should be challenged concerning usage of English they should also develop an interest in other countries and maybe start finding friends from other schools. The end of the project is the performance of the Musical "Wunderbunt" (written and composed by our headmistress Ursula Löscher ) in the town hall. In this Musical Legends of Ireland, Norway and Great Britain are combined. The implementation of the Musical is executed by Mrs Hefel-Berchtold who not only teaches the drama class of the school but also most of the pupils in English. Mrs Hefel-Berchtold would like to prepare herself by participating in a teacher training course in Ireland (Title: English Language Training and Irish culture). This seems to fullfill the needs of Mrs. Hefel-Berchtold as she teaches English in several classes and also prepares the children for the final performance of the Musical "Kunterbunt" ( which deals with Legends from Ireland and Norway . This Musical is partly in English and partly in German) This teacher training is an instrument of quality management and this project should present our school as an open minded european school with connections beyond the boarders of our country. The process of the project will be published in our local newspaper which appears monthly with reports and pictures. This is how we keep the public informed about ongoing activities at our school. Especially nowadays, when every school should find their profile and positioning within the wide range of possibilities , such activities are very important. We believe that this project shows among others that we are a modern open minded school. In this project an open european consciousness should be created, which should arouse interest towards other countries, cultures, languages, traditions and customs. This understanding should lead to tolerance and esteem concerning people from other countries. Communication in another language should happen in a relaxed way with fun. This is how children should get the desire to learn a new language.
